1. China Star

China Star at 2191 E. Apple Ave in Muskegon touts flavorful dishes that are perfect for takeout night.

The local spot has many comfort food favorites, whether you’re looking to grab some crab rangoons, egg drop soup or savory sweet and sour chicken with steamed white rice on the side.

Some of the best sellers on the menu remain the family dinner specials, where customers can order a dinner for up to six people.

The classic dinner for three includes sweet and sour chicken and garlic chicken, as well as a choice of soup and egg roll for $29.99.

2. Egg Roll House

Egg Roll House is located at 1084 E. Sternberg Rd. inside The Pointes Shopping Center in Muskegon.

The cozy and family-friendly spot is known to offer authentic Chinese Mandarin cuisine to foodies in the area.

If you’re looking for some hearty and filling dishes, Egg Roll House has it all — from General Tso’s chicken and shrimp with scallops to beef with broccoli and vegetable egg foo young.

The best sellers on the menu continue to be the lunch special combination plates offered from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Starting at $6.95, each plate is served with one egg roll and one crabmeat rangoon.

3. Joe Chan’s Bistro

Joe Chan’s Bistro at 2675 Henry St. Suite D in Muskegon is known for offering happy hour food, vegetarian dishes and a kid’s menu.

“We have worked to package our meals in a way that lets you bring the quality of our meals into your home,” as stated on the restaurant website. “We always love to see you in person, but even when we can’t we ensure that your dining experience is top-notch.”

Top sellers on the menu feature the combination entrees served with an egg roll or three crab rangoons and rice selection.

Customers can choose everything from crispy chicken and General Tso to orange chicken and sweet and sour pork for just $13.

Little Easy at 5600 Harvey St. is located inside The Lakes Mall foodcourt, offering plenty of Chinese appetizers, entrees, dinner combos, and fresh smoothies.

Regular customers rave about the dinner combos starting at just $9.95. A favorite, the orange chicken combo, is served with fried rice and an egg roll.

There is also the option to substitute white rice and veggies for potatoes and lo mein for $2 extra.

Other popular options include the bourbon chicken combo, lo mein noodles combo and sesame chicken.

5. Yum Yum Sushi

Yum Yum Sushi at 2739 Henry St. in Muskegon is a Japanese restaurant that offers everything from authentic Japanese cuisine to Thai and Chinese takeout.

Although the name gives it away that the spot specializes in delicious sushi selections, customers also rave about the signature Chinese dishes.

Top sellers include Kung Pao chicken, Hunan chicken and General Tso’s chicken. Starting at $7.65, each plate is served with white rice or plain fried rice for $1 extra.

There is also a lunch special daily from 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., where customers can get the same combination plates served with crab rangoon and a spring roll.
