Nuevo Modern Mexican explores three regions of Mexico in five-course dinner


CLEVELAND, Ohio – Tacos and tamales may be familiar Mexican foods, but the cuisine is so much broader and richer. The executive chef and bar manager at Nuevo Modern Mexican & Tequila Bar will showcase some of that at five-course dinner on Jan. 27, at the downtown Cleveland restaurant. The cuisine and cocktails will represent three regions of Mexico – Yucatan, Jalisco and Baja California.

“We chose the Yucatan because of its history. It’s where the Mayan culture was strong. The basis of Mexican culture comes from the Mayans,” said Terry O’Brien, bar manager. “Jalisco is where all tequila and much of mezcal is made. It’s close to central Mexico.”
